Margaret Voeller

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at 11:00 a.m., at Little Flower Catholic Church in Rugby, for Margaret Voeller, 95, of Rugby, who died Tuesday, Feb. 2 at the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby.

Burial will be in the church cemetery in the spring.

Margaret was born Aug. 11, 1914, at home on the family farm 1/2 mile north of Brazil, a daughter of Peter and Marion (Gerhart) Axtman. She was raised there and received her education at Brazil #2 country school. She married Edward P. Voeller on Nov. 20, 1935, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Balta. The couple made their home in Rugby. Over the years she worked at the Rugby Creamery, Good Samaritan Hospital, and Little Flower Catholic Church rectory. She also provided daycare for several families. Following Edward’s death on Sept. 12, 1984, she remained at home until moving to the Haaland Manor apartments in 1997. In 2009, she moved to the Haaland Home.

She was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church, the Confraternity of Christian Mothers, and the Ministry of Praise.

She is survived by three sons: Donald of Hot Springs, Ark., Duane of Ottobrunn, Germany, and David of Rapid City, S.D.; one grandson, Mark Voeller of Waukesha, Wis.; two step-granddaughters: Megan and Jordain Wellnitz; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; five brothers: Anton, Mike, Nick P., John P., and Ferdinand (half-brother); five sisters: Marian Axtman, Magdalene Bohl, Cunegunda Massine, Eva M. Schaan, and Theresa Axtman (half-sister); and her parents.

Fr. Tom Graner and Fr. Daniel Mrnarevic will officiate. Music will be provided by Robert Graber, vocal leader and cantor, and Angie Deplazes, organist.

Casketbearers will be Edward Brossart, Pius Axtman, Christ Heintz, Ted Mitzel, Claude Wolfe, and Conrad Schuster.
