Doris Stutrud

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010, at Emmanuel United Church, Rugby, for Doris Stutrud, 83, who died Friday, Jan. 22 at the Heart of America Medical Center Long Term Care.

Burial will be in Persilla Watts Cemetery, Rugby, in the spring.

Doris was born Oct. 26, 1926, in Minot, a daughter of Edgar and George Ann (Dilday) Hanks. She attended school in Granville until third grade when her family moved to Rugby. After graduation, Doris worked for a short time as a bookkeeper at the Rugby Creamery. She married Oliver Stutrud on June 15, 1946. They made their home north of Tunbridge.

She is survived by her husband, Oliver, of Rugby; a daughter, Rhoda Mickelson, of Rolla; three grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Amy Anderson, of Leeds; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Roger; her parents; brothers-in-law; and a sister-in-law.

Rev. Donald E. Andrews officiated. Music was provided by the congregation with Barb Lee as organist.

Casketbearers were Duane Anderson, Jim Stutrud, Todd Stutrud, Andy Porgsborg, and Sebastian Wald.
