Lorraine Armstrong

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, at 10:30 a.m., at Niewoehner Funeral Home in Rugby, for Lorraine Marie Armstrong, 85, of Rugby and Rolette, who died Tuesday, Jan. 19 at the Rolette Community Care Center.

Burial will be in the Island Lake Cemetery, Rolette, in the spring.

Lorraine was born Nov. 4, 1924, in Rush Lake Township, Pierce County, a daughter of John and Marie (Mundahl) Beck. She grew up in northern Pierce County and graduated from high school. She married Ralph Waldo Armstrong on March 26, 1943, in Rolla. They farmed in Rolette County all their lives. Mr. Armstrong died on May 29, 1992. She moved to Rugby in 1993, and lived there until she moved to the Rolette Community Care Center in late 2009.

She was a member of the Mylo Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her children: Bonner of Helena, Mont., Ralph of Warren, Mich., Joyce Tegarden of Zimmerman, Minn., Dean of Rolette, Dale of Zimmerman, Minn., Nancy Wibe of Rolette, and Daniel of Rolette.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a great-grandson, Bryce Wibe; a brother, Darold Beck; and a sister, Betty Skar.

Rev. Philip D. Leer will officiate. Music will be provided by Dianne Montonye, organist.

Honorary casketbearers will be her grandsons: John, Mark, and Paul Armstrong, Robin Tegarden, Bryan, David, Mark, and Michael Wibe.
