Dave Follman
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, at Zion Lutheran Church in Towner, for Dave L. Follman, 49, of Towner, who died Friday, Oct. 23 at the Heart of America Medical Center.
Burial was in Union Cemetery, Towner.
Dave was born Oct. 10, 1960 in Rugby, a son of Hawthorne “Dutch” and Delores (Stenson) Follman. He was raised in the home of his parents in Towner and graduated from Towner High School in 1978. He married Sheila Johnson in June of 1980. The couple made their home on a ranch north of Towner. That marriage later dissolved. He was once married to Colleen Kitzman. He worked at Cenex and in the late 1980’s he started ranching with his brother.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, serving as a past council member, and was active in the Towner Rodeo Association.
He is survived by one son, Sheldon, Sawyer; three grandchildren; his fiancee, Mavis Ortiz and her three children, all of Towner; two brothers, Roy and Steve, both of Towner; two sisters, Lynda Smith and Dorothy Kongslie, both of Towner; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pastor Tim Solberg officiated. Music was provided by Jason Mongeon, soloist, and Mandy Hall, organist.
Casketbearers were Loyde Krout, Lyle Kramer, Gerard Deibert, Corey Pederson, Juan Ortiz, Luis Ortiz, Sanford Berg and Rick Haman.
