Pauline Cartwright
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Anamoose, for Pauline Cartwright, 100, of Anamoose, who died Friday, Oct. 16 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey.
Burial was in the church cemetery.
Pauline was born Oct. 31, 1908 near Clifton, a daughter of Peter and Mary (Muthman) Seefeld. She grew up and attended school through the 8th grade near Clifton. She then attended school for sewing and became a seamstress. She married Nick Cartwright, Jr., on Nov. 23, 1927 in Selz. They lived on a farm near Berwick, and later lived near Clifton. In 1928, they built a farmstead on the north side of Cartwright Lake near Martin. In 1930 the home burned down. They moved to the south side of the lake. The couple retired from farming in 1974, and moved to Anamoose. In 2000, she moved into St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey. Nick died on Jan. 9, 2001.
She is survived by three daughters, Mary Lou Albert of Minot, and Angeline Kesler and Arla Mae Vannett, both of Anamoose; one son, Ronald of Anamoose; 24 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and 28 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Nick; a son, Gordon “Tommy”; a daughter, Patricia Degenstein-Arron; a great-grandchild, Elizabeth Kesler; and four sisters and five brothers.
