Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, at Wolford Lutheran Church, for Larry “Bim” Follman, 55, of York, who died at Heartland Care Center in Devils Lake.

Burial will be at a later date in the York Cemetery.

Bim was born Dec. 29, 1953 in Rugby, a son of Jack and Betty (Stoll) Follman. He was reared and educated in the Wolford area and attended Wolford Public School. He lived most of his life on the Follman family farm in rural Wolford. He married Sandra McGarvey. They made their home in Union Township, where he farmed. He later married Sheila Olson. In addition to farming, he worked as a radio announcer for KZZJ in Rugby, attended auctioneering school in Billings, Mont., sold machinery for Welander Equipment in Rolla, and for the past 11 years worked at Citizens Community Credit Union.

He served on the Wolford School Board and was an active member of the Wolford community.

He is survived by his children, Linsey Schempp of Williston, Becky Campbell of Cando, Rachael Schumacher of Devils Lake, John of Wolford, and Jackson of Fargo; five grandchildren; his mother, Betty of Grand Forks; brothers, Terry of Leeds, and Rick of Devils Lake; sisters, Judy Lewis of Mylo, Jan Halvorson of Williston, and Jackie Knutson of Leeds; an aunt, Nettie Jane Evans of Rugby; uncles, Ted Stoll of Coos Bay, Ore., and Fred Stoll; and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack; paternal grandparents, Clarence and Marguerite Follman; maternal grandparents, Charles and Sylvia Stoll; and several aunts and uncles.

Rev. Phil Leer officiated.

Casketbearers were Mark Kalbus, Terry Engstrom, Brent Kurtti, Kevin Lunde, Bob Silliman and Dylan Yoder.
