Anna Anderson
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Rugby, for Anna Sophia Anderson, 99, who died Thursday, Sept. 10, at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Bottineau.
Burial was in Persilla Watts Cemetery.
Anna was born July 25, 1910 in the Rugby home of her parents, a daughter of Andrew and Ingeborg (Salvorson) Mygland. She was raised in the Rugby home and received her education in Rugby schools. She married Odin Edwin Anderson on December 3, 1931, in Rugby. The couple made their home in Rugby and leased the Anderson farm operation from Odin’s father. They operated the farm until 1933, when the couple left Rugby to oversee the operation of a sheep ranch near Chinook, Mont. In 1936, they purchased Anna’s family farm north of Rugby, and in 1938, returned to make their home and farm there. Odin retired from farming in 1965, and the couple moved into Rugby in 1975. Odin died April 10, 1990.
She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and its W.E.L.C.A.
She is survived by one son, Rev. Fred Anderson of Dunseith; two grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Gina Witt of Rugby; two sisters-in-law, Marcella Mygland and Jeanette Mygland; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Arthur Donald; a daughter-in-law, Sharon; nine brothers, Ted, Sam, Carl, Ingvold, Alfred, Benny, Arnie, John and Art; one sister, Karine Halvorson; and her parents.
Pastor Phil Leer officiated. Music was provided by Alecia Pretzer, vocalist, and Pam Anderson, organist.
Casketbearers were Erik Anderson, Jeff Jordheim, Curtis Halvorson, Michael Mygland, Rodney Halvorson and Oscar Kleven.
