Norman Sattler

Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church for Norman V. Sattler, 76, of Choteau, Mont., who died Monday, Aug. 24, at Benefis East Hospital in Great Falls, Mont.

Burial was in the Choteau Cemetery.

Norman was born April 28, 1933 in Balta, a son of Martin and Elizabeth (Mitzel) Sattler. He attended school in Orrin. He married Darlene Haug on April 9, 1956 in Williston. He worked heavy equipment and also worked for the Great Falls Meat Company and Triangle Meat Packing Company until he opened a restaurant in Choteau, operating it until 1992. After retiring, he started Norm’s Lawn Service, which he operated until his death.

He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Choteau.

He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Laurie Alcorn, Mesa Ariz., Loretta Bliss, Dutton, Mont. and Lynda Gilchrist, Castle Rock, Colo.; one son, Larry, Choteau, Mont.; one sister, Bertha Axtman, Williston; three brothers, Jim, St. Cloud, Minn., Jerry, Prescott, Ariz. and Donald, Goodyear, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Dennis.

Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Choteau or the Sletten Cancer Institute in Great Falls, Mont.
