Mary Ann Lybeck
Funeral mass was held Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009 at Little Flower Catholic Church, Rugby, for Mary Ann Lybeck, 74, Rugby, who died Saturday, Aug. 1 at the Heart of America Long Term Care Center.
Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mary Ann was born March 27, 1935 at Harvey to Michael and Josephine Keller. She was raised in Selz and attended Selz Special School until the 8th grade. She worked in the Harvey and Rugby areas prior to marrying Frank A. Schmaltz in 1953. They raised their children on the family dairy and grain farm north of Rugby. Frank died in 1971. Mary Ann married Erling Lybeck in 1973, and they continued to live on the farm north of Rugby. Erling died July 17, 2006.
She was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers organization.
She is survived by six sons, Duane Schmaltz, McMinnville, Tenn.; Bob Schmaltz, Rugby; Boyd Schmaltz, Bismarck; Gary Schmaltz, San Antonio, Texas; Dale Schmaltz, Newark, Calif.; and Marty Schmaltz, Rugby; a daughter, Kathy Brandt, Rugby; four brothers, Leonard Keller, Rugby; Raymond Keller, Wolf Point, Mont.; Frank Keller, Rugby; and William Keller, Surrey; two sisters, Agnes Busch, Westminster, Colo., and Clara Davis, Mandan; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; and two brothers, Adam and Tony.
Father Tom Graner officiated. Music was provided by Teri Jacobson, organist; Sara Selensky, song leader; and Deb and Aimee Schmaltz and Jennifer Gault, vocalists.
Casketbearers were Paul Lybeck, Kyle Hoversten, Camerson Schmaltz, Jonathan Schmaltz, Rodney Keller, Bill Henning and Keith Gault.
