Lee Paulson
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 18, 2009 at Viking Lutheran Church, rural Maddock, for Lee Sanford Paulson, 56, Maddock, who died Wednesday, July 15 at St. Aloisius Medical Center in Harvey.
Burial was in the church cemetery.
Lee was born Jan. 2, 1953 at Maddock to Alvin and Carmen (Togstad) Paulson. He graduated from the Benson County Agricultural and Training School at Maddock in 1971. He served in the Army as a medic. Upon his discharge, Lee attended school at Wahpeton, where he studied aviation. He returned to the family farm and continued farming until his death. He was to have married Robyn Alsaker on July 18.
He was a lifelong member of Viking Lutheran Church. He served on the West Antelope Valley Township Board, Bremen Elevator Board and was a former member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his fiancee, Robyn, and her daughter, Ashley, Maddock; his mother, Maddock; a sister, Charlene Johnson, Grafton; brothers, Michael Paulson, Tahlequah, Okla.; Lynn Paulson, Grafton; and Kim Paulson, Devils Lake; and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his father; his grandparents; aunts and uncles.
Pastor Allen Campbell officiated. Music was provided by Kim Paulson, soloist; and Sheila Erickson, organist.
Casketbearers were Andrew Johnson, Daniel Johnson, Christopher Paulson, Luke Paulson, Brad Paulson, Alex Paulson and Nick Askew. Honorary bearers were all Lee’s neighbors and friends.
Military honors were accorded by the Theodore A. Togstad American Legion Post 123 of Maddock.
