Richard “Dick” Blesener
Memorial services were held Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, for Richard F. “Dick” Blesener, 65, Minot, who died Thursday, July 9 at his home after being diagnosed in December of 2008 with brain cancer.
A private burial will be held at a later time.
Dick was born May 3, 1944 in Minot to Francis and Magdalen (Senger) Blesener. He grew up in Minot and graduated from Bishop Ryan High School. He attended Minot State University. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve from February of 1963 to February of 1969. On July 27, 1968 he married Nadine Anderson of Rugby in Minot. They made their home in Minot, where he was employed at Blesener Olds, Inc., Staples, American Family Insurance and Fisher Motors.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a former member of the Elks Lodge and American Legion, all in Minot.
He is survived by his wife; a brother, William Blesener, Minot; a sister, Jean Sullivan, Summerville, S.D.; and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Blesener.
Memorials are preferred to Trinity Hospice, Souris Valley Animal Shelter, Minot Domestic Violence Crisis Center or an organization of the donor’s choice.
