Allen Gunderson

Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 18, 2009 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Towner for William Allen “Al” Gunderson, 43, Fargo, who died Thursday, July 9 at his home in Fargo.

Disposition of his cremated remains will take place at a later date.

Al was born Sept. 11, 1965 in Los Angeles, the son of William Arthur and Dorothy Ann (Schiele) Gunderson. He was raised in the home of his parents in Los Angeles and received his education there. Following his schooling, he apprenticed in welding and electricity and worked in those fields in California until moving to Towner in 1996. While living in Towner he worked as an electrician in Grand Forks. In 1998 he moved to Fargo, working there until his death. He was once married to Cecile Cornell.

He was a member of the Electricians Union.

He is survived by his father, Los Angeles; a son, Kenneth Gunderson, Saugus, Calif.; a daughter, Torrie Strauga, of Pennsylvania; a brother, Kent, Towner; a sister, Brittney Keller, Towner; his maternal grandfather, Ivan Schiele, Denbigh; and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his mother; his paternal grandparents and his maternal grandmother.

Mr. Wally Fretland will officiate.
