Ronald Jemtrud

Funeral services were held Friday, April 17, 2009 at Bethany Lutheran Church for Ronald Wayne Jemtrud, 76, who died Monday, April 13 at Trinity Nursing Home in Minot.

Burial will be in the Mylo Cemetery in the spring.

Ronald was born July 24, 1932 in Towner County, the son of Lewis C. and Laura (Armstrong) Jemtrud. He was raised in the rural Mylo home of his parents and received his education at Pleasant Valley country school. As a young man he worked for a short time in the oil fields in western North Dakota. He later returned to Mylo to help his father on the farm. Following his father’s death, he took over operation of the farm and continued there until retiring in 1997. He moved to the Haaland Estates in November of 2008. He was once married to Janice Johnston.

He is survived by two sons, Kelly, Velva, and Chuck, Stanley; a daughter, Lori Voeller, Rugby; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four brothers, Bob, of Idaho; Ode, of Florida; Alve, of Minnesota; and Don, of Fargo; two sisters, Arlene Benson, Rugby, and Judy Brackel, Bowman.

He was preceded in death by a son, Kevin; and his parents.

Pastor Phil Leer officiated. Music was provided by the Mennonite Family Singers and Angie Deplazes, organist.

Casketbearers were Galen Yoder, Arlyn Yoder, Tommy Peterson, Tim Mears, Dwayne Graber and Danny Armstrong.
