Thomas Garhofer
A memorial funeral mass will be held Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Sykeston for Thomas Michael Garhofer, 52, Minot, who died Monday, Dec. 22, 2008 at the Trinity Medical Center in Minot.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Tom was born Dec. 28, 1955 at Sykeston, the son of Conrad and Mary Ann (Schaack) Garhofer. He was raised in the home of his parents in Sykeston, where he attended and graduated from St. Elizabeth Catholic School. Following graduation he attended Bottineau State College for two years and then transferred to NDSU in Fargo, where he graduated with a BS degree in Wildlife Management. In 1987 he moved to Rugby. On Dec. 7, 1996 he married Lisa Bickler in Rugby. While living in Rugby, Tom worked for Centre Crop Consulting and Cenex. At the time of his death he was employed with the telemarketing company MTI.
He was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church in Rugby.
He is survived by his wife, of Minot; two daughters, Jena and Jordyn Garhofer, Minot; a step-daughter, Jessica Bickler, Balta; his father and stepmother, Conrad and Evangeline Garhofer of West Fargo; a brother, Neal, Seaside, Ore.; a sister, Deb Ritcher, Sykeston; step-brother, Brad Hertel, Casselton; step-sister, Gloria Cruchet, Las Vegas, Neb.; his mother-in-law, Caroline Bickler, Rugby; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother and his father-in-law, Wendell Bickler.
Fr. David Severson will officiate. St. Elizabeth’s Church Choir will provide vocal music.
A rosary and vigil prayer service will be held at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 13.
