Victor Garman

Funeral services for were held Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Beulah, for Victor Garman, 71, Beulah, who died March 7 at St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck.

Interment will be held in Bowbells at a later date.

Victor was born Jan. 24, 1938 at Balta to Mathias and Marion (Bohl) Garman. He was reared and educated in the Balta area and graduated from Esmond High School in 1956. He attended Minot State Teachers for College for a year and then taught rural school in the Balta area for three years. He returned to Minot and finished his two-year degree and then taught in Bowbells for four years. He married Janice Lesteberg on June 6, 1963 in Bowbells. He continued his education at summer school and taught in Williston for the next 17 years. After that he worked for an oil field supply company in Williston for 22 years. They retired and moved to Riverdale for three years before moving to Beulah in 2007.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Churches in Bowbells, Williston and Beulah.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Vicki Wolf, Bismarck, and Teresa Christianson, Brainerd, Minn.; a son, Dr. Aaron Garman, Beulah; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Albert Garman, Grants Pass, Ore., Daniel Garman, West Fargo, and Jerry Garman, Watford City; and six sisters, Margaret Garman, Grants Pass; Rose Schmidt and Joan Bosch, Rugby; Sister Gabriella Garman, Milwaukee, Wis.; Barbara Garman, Milaca, Minn.; and Betty Butler, Salinas, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, David Garman; a grandson; and a brother, Andrew Garman.

Fr. Johnson Kuriappilly officiated.
