Margaret Thompson
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 12 noon at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Towner for Margaret Helen Thompson, 81, who died Saturday, March 7 at her home in Fargo.
Burial will be in the church cemetery in the spring.
Margaret was born June 6, 1927 in Rugby, the daughter of Lawrence and Frances (Joner) Heinrich. She was raised in the rural Towner home of her parents and received her education in a rural school near her home. On Sept. 15, 1958 she married Arnett Thompson in Towner. Following their marriage, the couple made their home on a ranch south of Towner. Over the years, Margaret worked at the Towner Nursery, as a cook for the Towner school, at the Hub in Rugby and for the Senior Citizens Club in Towner. Arnett died in 1981. She continued to live in Towner until 2007 when she moved to Fargo to be closer to her children.
She was a member of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Towner, the VFW Auxiliary, the Town and Country Homemakers Club and the Birthday Club, all of Towner.
She is survived by a son, Bob Heinrich, Fargo; a daughter, Betty Hoffart, West Fargo; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Susan; six brothers, Gabe, Frank, Paul, Joe, Steve and Tom; and her parents.
Friends may call at the church for one hour prior to the time of services.
Fr. Wenceslaus Katanga will be the celebrant. Music will be provided by St. Cecilia’s Music Ministry.
Casketbearers will be Tom, Wayne, Larry, Jack, Terry and Mason Heinrich, Alan and Jade Hoffart.
