Mylo Strand

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009 at Leeds Lutheran Church for Mylo Manfred Strand, 79, Leeds, who died Friday, Feb. 20 under the care of Mercy Hospice at the Good Samaritan Center in Devils Lake.

Burial will be in the Leeds Cemetery in the spring.

Manfred was born Aug. 13, 1929 at Harlow, the son of Arnold and Stella (Tangelin) Strand. He was educated at the Lake Ibsen rural school and then farmed with his father east of Leeds. Following his father’s death, Mylo continued to farm until retiring in 1995.

He was a member of Leeds Lutheran Church, the Devils Lake Elks Lodge and Sons of Norway.

He is survived by sisters, Arleen Axness, Leeds, and Elaine Wentz, Rapid City, S.D.; a brother, Rodney Strand, Devils Lake; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law; and a nephew.

Pastor Richard Budd officiated. Music was provided by Darlene Albertson, soloist, and Doris Michaels, organist.

Casketbearers were Lennis Foss, Virgil Anderson, Lee Larson and Leland Tangelin.
