Fifth-graders and sixth-graders from Rugby’s Ely Elementary School and Little Flower School entertained family and friends at the 2013 Winter Band Concert on Monday at Rugby High School’s Tilman Hovland Auditorium.

The fifth-grade band started the evening and played “Hot Cross Buns,” “Mary Had a Little Lamb,” “Mary Had a Cool Lamb,” “Good King Wenceslas” and “Stomp Rock.” The sixth-graders followed with “Creature Feature,” “Deck the Halls,” “Joy to the World,” “O Come All Ye Faithful” and “A Winter Trilogy.” Both groups performed under the guidance of Rugby schools band director Kari Hill.

“They did amazing,” Hill said following the concert. “They really did great and I’m very proud. They worked very hard tonight.”

The Ely Choir sang four songs led by director Andee Mattson, music teacher at Ely. The students sang “Yo Vivo Cantando! (I Live to Sing),” “Winter Holiday,” “Dear Santa” and “Carol of the Bells.”
