Rugby FFA attends Leadership Conference

Tuesday October 2nd was a big day for the Rugby FFA Chapter as it was the District 3 FFA Leadership Conference. FFA Members, advisors and judges gathered from around the district fort his event held at Rugby High School. Emily Stier and Helen Johnson (3rd place) competed in the demonstration event receiving a gold award. Laura Fritel competed in the job interview event and received a bronze award. Receiving a gold award in the creed competition was Rebekah Wangler. Receiving a gold award and advancing to state in the prepared public speaking event was Shanaya Fred (1st place). Preston Vetsch (1st place) competed in the extemporaneous public speaking event and received a gold award. Preston will advance to the state competition in June. Clay Vannett (gold), Shea Heidlbaugh (silver), Lauren Christianson (silver), Ashley Schmaltz (silver), Lauren Kraft (bronze), and Hunter Hager (bronze) participated in the greenhand quiz event. Their team received a silver award. Participating in the quiz event were Kayla Koehmstedt (gold), Cole Genetzky (silver), Mckenzie Johnson (silver), ReeAnn Christianson (silver), and Sierra Jundt (silver). Their team received a silver award. The Rugby FFA Officer team consisting of Cole Genetzky (gold), Matt Johnson (gold), Benji Miller , Preston Vetsch, Cassandra Jaeger, Brian Jordan (silver), Keylee Odden (gold), Nikki Atkinson (silver), Amber Jaeger (gold and officer of the day), and Patricia Pfeifer received a gold award.
