Rolette School celebrates Homecoming

2011 Homecoming at Rolette High School will start Monday, Sept. 19. Co-presidents of the student council, Alexa Martinson and Tara Gottbreht, along with the other student council members and their advisor Ms. Pfeifer have been busy planning an exciting and fun week of homecoming activities.

Students in grades 9-12 nominated their homecoming royalty this week. The senior class nominated Chris Julson and Kelsey Halvorson. Juniors nominated Everett Lervik and Kaylee Scott. Sophomores nominated Joseph Mongeon and Tara Gottbreht, while the freshman nominated Aaron Thompson and Samantha Wittmayer. Coronation will be held Monday, Sept. 19 at 2:45 p.m. in the new gym.

Homecoming activities will be going on all week at RHS. One new activity this year will be the Cougar/Comet hunt where prizes will be given to students who find the hidden comets or cougar paws around the school. Other activities are as follows:

Monday: Hobo (homeless person) Day; coronation at 2:45 p.m.

Tuesday: Injured Athlete (fake an injury/favorite jersey day); home volleyball game against Adams/Edmore; Johnny Bravo volleyball (high school boys) after girls’ volleyball game.

Wednesday: High School (7-12) – John Hancock Day; Elementary (K-6) – Hat Day.

Thursday: Comet Day; Homecoming VB game vs. Rolla in Rolette.

Friday: Cougar Day; grades 7-12 will be decorating floats in morning; Activities for grades 7-12 will start at 12:30 p.m.; parade will begin at 2:30 p.m. (start at the School); come cheer on the North Prairie Cougars at 7 p.m. in Rolette as they take on the Hatton-Northwood Thunder.
