Wolford, Leeds students art featured

Local students have works exhibited in the ND Student Traveling Show, which will open Tuesday, Sept. 8 at the Cando Art Gallery, Audi Building. Cody Yoder of Wolford Public School; Denzel Olsen, Cade Ackre, and Mallory Rieder of North Star School; Josh Houim, and Madeline Cameron of Rugby High School; Kaylee Lybeck, Timothy Thayne , Kalvin Slaubaugh, Julissa MGarvey, and Taylor Bisbee of Leeds Elementary School are the students who have art in this traveling Show.

The works of 95 students were chosen at the North Dakota Art Competition in Minot at the Taube Museum of Art in April 2009. The jurors were: Dan Smith, a photographer, and Matt Wallace, director of Rural Arts Initiative at the North Dakota Museum of Art, Grand Forks.

The show will run for two weeks, ending September 18. The hours are 1-4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday or by appointment, call Shelley Lord, 968-3655.
