The Pierce County Tribune on Wednesday, June 17, 1981, the Pierce County Fairgrounds hosted the 31st Annual North Dakota State Championship Horse Show on June 19-21. The event shared part of a history that last in the memories of everyone who participated. A piece of history is swirling around in photo albums, trophies on shelves and memories of days missed. The annual horse show event continued on for several more years.

More than 100 teams of horses reined and saddled up, carriages brought out to showcase, carts hooked up to teams of horse and buggies filled with smiling people, as each one made their way along the parade route entering the Pierce County Fairgrounds.

Jason Miller and Rohnda Miller from Rugby are searching for people who were part of the North Dakota State Championship Horse Shows. If you would like to share some of your trophy memories you or a family member received, they would like to hear from you. They can be contacted at (701) 681-0012.
