The Heart of America Concert Series has been working in coordination with Allied Concert Services to bring rich and exciting music to Rugby. The Beach Boys tribute band “Sail On” will perform on Tuesday, April 8, at 7:30 p.m., with doors opening at 6:45 p.m. at Rugby’s Hovland Auditorium.
The vocal group will perform some of the Beach Boys’ greatest hits, such as “Surfin’ Safari,” “In My Room,” “California Girls,” “I Get Around” and many more recognizable hits. The energetic group, based in Nashville, performs more than a 100 shows every year. They are considered the most booked Beach Boys tribute band in the world.
The Heart of America Concert Series was initiated in 1975 by a group of community members whose goal was to bring rich and inviting entertainment to the small town community.
“Often in small towns it’s hard to get art and entertainment, so this was started with that as the goal,” said Heart of America Concert Series member Renae Dockter.
According to information from Heart of America Concert Series, this is the 41st year of bringing concerts to rural communities.
“We will continue to bring concerts to the Rugby area,” Dockter said. “We even have next year’s line up ready to go.”
