Sue Sitter/PCT Members of the Rugby Clarence Larson American Legion Post 23 collected and burned damaged flags from area residents in a ceremony at the Pierce County Shop June 14. The Flag Day ceremony was held to give residents a chance to dispose of their American flags properly, according to post members. Dwayne Johnston, a post member who conducts the ceremony annually, said about 350 flags were burned this year.
