The Rugby Public School Board voted May 18 in a special meeting to increase pay for teachers and other staff for the district’s 2022 and 2023 fiscal years.

The pay increase amounts to an average 3.33 percent for fiscal year 2022 and 2.79 percent for fiscal year 2023 for teachers. The board also approved a 3.33 percent increase for instructional coaches, ancillary staff, the district’s business manager, tech director, athletic director and administrators. Administrators will have a cell phone stipend added to their salaries.

The board approved the increases with unanimous votes. Board member Dustin Hager abstained from voting for the non-teacher increase due to the fact his wife is an instructional coach.

District Business Manager Dawn Hauck told the board the district planned to issue contracts May 21. Hauck said the contracts would be due June 4.

In other business, board member Shane Livedalen announced he would not run again for his post on the board in the next election.
