First International Bank and Trust presents $2,000 gift to Haaland Estates
RUGBY – First International Bank & Trust recently presented a donation to Haaland Estates as part of its Annual Community Giving Program. The assisted and basic living care facility was selected from among 134 community organizations across FIBT’s footprint to receive a “Rising Star” grant, given to four organizations undertaking a new project or initiative.
The $2,000 gift will support the construction of and landscaping for a new gazebo at the Memory Care Unit courtyard. Darcie Rose, marketing coordinator for Haaland Estates, said construction of the gazebo is particularly timely.
“Everyone has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, but it has been especially difficult for our elderly population. Having a beautiful outdoor space will allow our residents to visit with one another and their loved ones, partake in activities and enjoy the outdoors in a safe and beautiful setting,” Rose said.
Through its Annual Community Giving program, FIBT gives back thousands of dollars to organizations and non-profits, making a difference in the communities it serves. FIBT Rugby President Tanner Johnson said this gift to Haaland Estates aligns perfectly with FIBT’s values.
“As our bank brings new, innovative solutions to our customers, we also understand the importance of honoring the past. The men and women who live at Haaland Estates have helped shape the community of Rugby into what it is today. We’re proud to support our area’s seniors and enhance their lives in any way possible,” Johnson said.
In its sixth year, a record-breaking 134 community organizations applied for FIBT’s Community Giving Program, which attracted more than 100,000 interactions on social media. Due to the overwhelming response and overall quality of nominations, the total dollar amount awarded through the program increased to $32,000.
