Rugby Leevers storefront gets new look

By Sue Sitter - | Dec 5, 2020

Sue Sitter/PCT Work is in progress on a new facade and eaves over the entrance at Leevers Foods in Rugby.

The Rugby Leevers Grocery store will greet customers with a new look soon.

Workers have been busy adding a new facade to the store’s building since last month, according to store manager Steven “Skip” Christianson.

“They’re doing just the doorway with a different design,” Christianson said of the new eaves arching over the store’s entrance. “The sign will look different and then the outside wall will have brick on the bottom part. The rest will be the same,” he added, pointing to an architect’s drawing of the new storefront.

“It’ll be nice when it’s done,” Christianson added. “It would’ve been nicer if it had been done before Thanksgiving, but that’s the way things work.”

Christianson said employees had been busy putting up holiday decorations in the store. “They usually decorate up front for Christmas,” he noted. “We’re getting in a holiday mood, kind of. It was busy the week before Thanksgiving.”

“This week, it’s quieter, so it’s nice to take a break,” Christianson added.
