Heart of America Medical Center announces COVID-19 updates
With increased positivity rates in surrounding areas, Heart of America Medical Center has put the following policies in place:
Visitation will only be allowed for patients and residents receiving compassionate care. No other visitations will be allowed. This is effective immediately for patients in our acute hospital, residents in our long-term care center, Haaland Estates and Haaland Home. Masks are required and should be provided by the individual(s).
The Johnson Clinic will begin drive-up COVID-19 testing for symptomatic patients on Monday, Oct. 26. Testing will take placed at the Haaland Estates parking garages. Drive-up testing will be available 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday through Friday. This testing is only available for established patients of the Johnson Clinic who have been seen by clinic providers within the last year. Patients must call the Johnson Clinic to schedule their drive-up appointment. All testing will be sent to the state lab for analysis. There may be a cost associated with testing.
Rapid testing at HAMC is not available to the public unless they are being admitted to the acute hospital uint or presenting as a pre-procedural surgical patient. Asymptomatic individuals requesting tests should call their local county public health offices.
Masks are still required at all facilities. If possible, the masks should be provided by the patients. Individuals picking up prescriptions at Heart of America Clinic Pharmacy will be asked to wait in their vehicles for curbside delivery or utilize the pharmacy’s mail-out services if they are not wearing a self-provided mask.
