Haaland Estates reports COVID sentinel testing results
Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby released results from its latest round of sentinel testing at Haaland Estates for COVID-19, Wednesday, Aug. 5.
A statement issued by the hospital reported 116 individuals tested at the facility.
“The testing included residents and employees of the facility,” the statement read. “Of the 116 tested, there were three positives one employee and two residents of the basic care facility,” the statement read. “These tests were completed at the state laboratory. All individuals were asymptomatic prior to the testing event and continue to have no symptoms as of this (statement date).”
The statement continued, “Haaland Estates (employees and residents were) tested again on August 4, 2020.”
“Those results have not been received at the time of this (statement). Haaland Estates will continue testing employees and residents on a weekly basis to monitor and minimize the spread of the virus,” the statement said.
“Once complete negative results have been obtained for a period of two consecutive weeks, they will resume the regular scheduled sentinel testing as required by the state,” the statement added.
The total number of cases positive for the virus in Pierce County stood at 11, with three patients recovered at the time HAMC released the statement.
Heart of America Medical Center Communications Director Darcie Rose said after the statement’s release, “Generally it takes anywhere from 24-72 hours to get results back, however, there are always variances.”

“In an update to a previous news release dated August 5, 2020, all testing results have been received back regarding the sentinel testing completed at Haaland Estates on August 4, 2020,” the statement read. “All test results were negative.”
