“Three simple steps” recommended to stop COVID spread

By Staff | Aug 8, 2020

The American Medical Association (AMA) and the American Nurses Association (ANA) released a public service announcement July 30 “urging the American public to take three simple steps to help stop the spread of COVID-19: wear a mask, practice physical distancing and wash hands frequently,” according to a statement by the American Hospital Association.

The statement said the public service announcement “is the first element of (the American Hospital Association’s) comprehensive Wear a Mask campaign to increase public acceptance of these essential actions and builds upon the joint open letter to the public released earlier this month by the AHA, the AMA and the ANA.”

“In conjunction with the release of the PSA, AHA will provide content and resources for hospitals and health systems, along with other partner organizations, to adapt and use.”

Heart of America Medical Center spokesperson Darcie Rose said via email, “HAMC and GSHA support these recommendations, we have no comment or statement regarding the PSA at this time.”
