The Lake Region District Health Unit announced on Friday the results of a joint coronavirus testing event held with Heart of America Medical Center and the Pierce County Office of Emergency Services in the Rugby NAPA parking lot last week.

District Health Unit Nurse Samantha Wentz said 199 tests were performed at the drive-through test event July 7. All 199 tests returned negative results.

“Please continue efforts of frequent hand washing, social distancing and staying home when ill to help protect yourself and others during this pandemic,” Wentz said in a written statement.

The North Dakota Department of Health also reported a new positive coronavirus result for Pierce County, bringing Pierce County’s total positive count to seven.
