‘Gala-less Gala’ a success

By Staff | May 15, 2020

Good Samaritan Health Services Foundation announced last week its “Gala-less Gala” raised $4,500 for Heart of America Medical Center’s Cancer Patient Care Fund.

The event, originally scheduled for April 3, went online to meet guidelines to combat the spread of the novel coronavirus, or COVID-19.

In a message to the Tribune, Cathy Jelsing of the foundation wrote, “We want to thank the 35 individuals and businesses that helped raise $4,000 for HAMC’s Cancer Patient Care Fund by contributing their sponsorships or making straight out donations.”

Donors contributing $500 were Altru Health System, Pinnacle Quality Insights, Rugby Dental Office, Prime Time Health Care, Magnet Solutions, Tom and Lynda Childress and Thrivent Financial. Donors contributing $250 were Bremer Bank and Dr. Josalynne Hoff Rue. Rugby resident Ruth Fedje contributed $200 to the gala, while Jo Claire Halvorson, Bonnie Kuehnemund and Rugby Lumber each donated $100.

“Special thanks to HAMC employees and retirees and to foundation and hospital board members who donated their ticket purchases to the cause,” Jelsing added.

Jelsing noted donations may still be sent to Good Samaritan Health Services Foundation at 800 S. Main Avenue in Rugby, or online at http://bit.ly/3d8y4s8 .
