June opening planned for Home of Economy
Home of Economy placed its sign in front of the parking lot of its Rugby store this week as CEO Scott Pearson announced a new targeted opening date.
“We moved our intended opening date to June,” Pearson said, noting plans to open the store early in April had been interrupted by restrictions on businesses due to public health guidelines and what he called “other little roadblocks.”
Pearson said the opening process will be gradual and a store grand opening celebration would likely take place after “operations are smooth.”
Work on the store’s interior will continue for the next few weeks, Pearson indicated.
“The floor hasn’t been done yet,” he noted. “We have to renovate the floor and put shelves in.”
Pearson said shelves would be stocked and new registers would be put in the store as well.
“We really want to get open in June,” Pearson noted, acknowledging current economic uncertainty. “That’s the plan, but we’ll see.”
