Dash for Cash drawing coming soon
Bright green Dash for Cash tickets from the Rugby Chamber of Commerce are back in local businesses this month and a lucky few may be worth a prize in Rugby bucks in January.
Rugby bucks are a currency accepted by participating Rugby businesses to be used just like cash, according to the Rugby Chamber of Commerce.
Rugby Chamber of Commerce Board President Ashley Berg told the Tribune the Dash for Cash, which began at the end of November, is “kind of like a lottery,” although no purchase is necessary to receive a ticket.
“Each ticket has a number,” Berg said. “We’ll give away $1,000 total in Rugby bucks.”
Berg said on Monday, Jan. 6, and Monday, Jan. 13, four winning ticket numbers will be drawn and announced on Rugby Broadcasters’ “Tell Me Something Good” at 8:45 a.m. The numbers will also be posted on the Chamber’s Facebook page.
Berg said winners may call Rugby Broadcasters at 776-5254 to claim their prizes.
Berg said she hopes shoppers receiving tickets will hold onto them because the Jan. 6 drawing is “just around the corner.”
“If any tickets haven’t been redeemed the Thursday following the last Monday drawing, we’ll have another drawing during ‘Tell Me Something Good’ at 8:45 (a.m.). We’ll keep drawing every five minutes until every ticket’s gone.”
“Shop local!” Berg added with a smile, noting the Dash for Cash “gives you that fun money for yourself in January after you’ve done all that Christmas shopping for everyone else!”
Rugby businesses participating in the Dash for Cash are: Envision, Harper Oil, Cindy’s Country Cupboard, Johnson’s Plumbing & Heating, Rugby Greenhouse, The Brown Lantern, La Bella Vita Salon, Rockin Relics, Holly’s Stitches & Crafts, The Jeneral Store, Hardware Hank, Main Street Boutique, Stylin’ You, St Michel Furniture & Floor Covering, Wild Minds and iDesign.
