Centered for Christmas

Rugby has a lot in store for local shoppers this holiday season. The Rugby Chamber of Commerce is hosting Centered for Christmas to make for a full day of fun to kick off the season.

The Rugby Chamber of Commerce has added events to the big day including a chance for shoppers to register at Chamber businesses to win $100 in Rugby Bucks for shopping local on Small Business Saturday.

An additional free matinee has been added. The Grinch, will be shown at 2:00 p.m. at the Lyric Theatre. Additional free matinees will play on Saturdays in December. They are December 7, 14, and 21 at 2:00 p.m. All of these movies are sponsored by the Rugby Chamber businesses.

The Rugby Jaycees, the Jr Chamber, will host “Grinchmas Family Christmas” at the Memorial Hall from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for family friendly fun filled games, crafts and pictures with the Grinch. This is free will offering of cash or a new toy with all proceeds going to Rugby Lions Project Joy.

The annual Parade of Lights will start at 6:30 p.m. this year. This will be followed by the lighting of the Christmas Tree at Merchants Bank Park on Main and 2nd along with a chance to sit with Santa. Parade entrees will line up at the Rugby High School parking lot starting at 6:00p.m. The Heart of America Medical Center Auxiliary will serve hot cider around the Christmas Tree.

The Rugby High School Community Building Class will have fire pits and smores after the Tree Lighting. Fire pits are sponsored by businesses through the RHS Class.

Keep an eye out for additional events hosted by the Rugby Chamber of Commerce this holiday season. Rugby has many opportunities to get out and greet neighbors and friends during the holiday season.
