Sheriff’s office, Rugby Police warn of Social Security scam calls

Dispatch for both Rugby Police Department and the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office are reporting an “alarming” number of complaints regarding Social Security Scam calls. Dispatchers are receiving multiple calls a day from area residents that have been targeted by this scam.

Local Law Enforcement again reminds residents that The Social Security Administration will not make these types of calls and will not ask for personal information. If you receive these calls hang up immediately. Again do not give out any personal information.
