Home of Economy returning to Rugby

By Staff | Sep 20, 2019

In 1964, Bob & Jean Kiesau, founders of Home of Economy, purchased the TBA group of stores which included a location in Rugby, North Dakota. They used the TBA group to open Home of Economy stores in several locations. Shortly after, the decision was made to close the Rugby location.

After nearly 55 years, Bob & Jean’s descendants are happy to announce that they will soon open a Home of Economy store at 225 US-2 (previous Shopko location) in Rugby.

Home of Economy is ecstatic about rejoining the community of Rugby. The company will be evaluating the area so they can tailor the assortment of products. Each area is unique so the company makes sure that each of their stores have all the products that fit. That way each community can find every product necessary for what they need.

“We have already seen the enthusiasm and support that Rugby has. It is great to see the community come together to support local businesses, ” said Wade Pearson, president of Home of Economy.

Home of Economy believes that providing great value is an important part of their mission. In addition to being a farm supply store, the company also carries products from Ariat, Carhartt, Wrangler, Under Armour, Columbia, Muck, Durango, Twisted X, Justin, DeWalt, Milwaukee, Stanley, Channellock, Stihl, Honda, DR and much more.

This will be Home of Economy’s eighth store. All located in the legendary North Dakota, Home of Economy has other stores located in Devils Lake, Grafton, Grand Forks, Jamestown, Minot, Watford City and Williston. The company is celebrating their 80th Anniversary next month; the celebration starts with this announcement. They are working on a timeline and will announce the tentative opening date in the future.

“We are excited to get to work on the store and would like to say thank you to everyone for the support. We look forward to serving you in the future,” said Scott Pearson, CEO of Home of Economy.
