Comprehensive planning meeting held Wednesday

The first of another round of meetings to update Pierce County’s Comprehensive Plan was held Wednesday evening at Rugby’s Fire Hall.

Daniel Schwartz, of Nexus Planning & Consulting, LLC, discussed with meeting attendees the requirements and purpose of a comprehensive plan; demographic and employment data; results of a survey over 30 respondents took; and went over goals, objectives and implementation strategies.

A second meeting will be held Wednesday, Oct. 2, at 7 p.m. at the Rugby Fire Hall.

Benson County VFW Auxiliary anniversary

The Benson County Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 4251, of Esmond, will celebrate their 72nd anniversary Thursday, Sept. 12, at the Rugby Eagles.

A meeting will be held at 4 p.m., with supper to follow. Members can order off the Eagles’ menu.

All members are invited to attend.
