HACTC inmate facing drug charges

An inmate at the Heart of America Correctional & Treatment Center is facing felony charges after drugs were found on his person during booking.

According to a release from the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, 31-year-old Randy Jackson was charged with possession of narcotics in a correctional facility- a Class B felony.

At 9 p.m. Sunday evening, the Sheriff’s office responded to a report that correctional staff found narcotics during booking an inmate. An investigating officer seized approximately two grams of suspected heroin as evidence.

According to the release, a N.D. Highway Patrol officer arrested Jackson earlier that day for an active arrest warrant from Ward County.

Class B felonies are punishable by up to 10 years in jail and or a $10,000 fine.
