Rugby Lions collecting eyeglasses
For decades, the Lions of Rugby have been collecting used eyeglasses for re-use by others in various parts of the world. Some people have never seen clearly until they received a pair of glasses from the LIONS.
Each year hundreds of glasses are collected in Rugby for re-use. The glasses are sorted by residents of the Haaland Home in Rugby as an activity project which is very much enjoyed by the residents. The glasses are then sent on to another Lions Club where they are sorted, cleaned and indexed. Eventually they are taken to poverty stricken countries of the world by Lion volunteers and given to needy people of all ages.
The Rugby Lions Club appreciates the donation of the glasses throughout the year. The Lions motto is: WE SERVE. We welcome new members who have the desire to help with Lion projects in Rugby and around the world. Contact any Lion for more information.
