Hippology season ends
The 2019 Hippology season is finished and the Pierce County 4-H Hippology Team did exceptionally well. The team members were Kendra Leier, Mika & Kami Guty, Joey & Jesse Wolf, Katelyn Mattern, & Hayden & Hailey Olson.
They were coached by Barb Rice & Diane Randle.
They competed in several contests across the state: Bismarck, Underwood, Stanley and finally the state contest in Fargo. They received no less than a 3rd at any contest.
At the state contest in Fargo March 23rd & 24th there were three contests we were entered in. In the Hippology contest the junior team of Hailey, Hayden, Kami & Katelyn won 2nd. The intermediate team of Kendra, Joey & Jesse also received 2nd. Mika was 7th highest individual in the Senior Hippology division and 3rd in stations.
The second contest was the Horse Judging Contest. The junior team of Joey, Jesse, Kendra, Hailey, Hayden, Kami & Katelyn won 3rd place overall with many individual awards as well. Joey Wolf was awarded 4th highest individual overall. She was also awarded 3rd individual in Reasons and 1st in performance classes. Katelyn Mattern was 5th in Performance. Hailey Olson received 8th in Performance. Kami Guty, Kendra Leier, and Hayden Olson tied for 9th in performance. In the Senior division Mika Guty received 5th highest individual overall, 3rd in Reasons, and 2nd in Performance.
The third contest was Horse Quiz Bowl. The junior team consisting of Joey & Jesse Wolf, Kami Guty, & Kendra Leier was third place overall. Individually Kami Guty was 4th highest individual, Kendra Leier was 5th and Joey Wolf was 10th. The other team Hailey Olson, Katelyn Mattern and 2 individuals from Ramsey County also did well, winning their first round.
