Applicants sought for Shively nursing scholarship

Rugby-area students preparing to pursue nursing careers are eligible to apply for the Carol Shively Memorial Scholarship. The $500 annual scholarship is administered by the Good Samaritan Health Services Foundation, Rugby. Applications are due Feb. 1.

A former nursing assistant at Heart of America Medical Center, Carol Shively was studying to becoming a nurse when her life was tragically cut short. Endowed through contributions from family and friends, the Carol Shively Memorial Scholarship was established to assist individuals pursuing nursing degrees.

Preference is given to applicants who have been accepted into a nursing program and who have been employed or plan to be employed by the Good Samaritan Hospital Association GSHA includes Heart of America Medical Center, Care Center, Hospice and Johnson Clinics, and Haaland Estates basic care and assisted living in Rugby.

North Dakota Farmers Union Insurance based in Jamestown, ND announced that Zach Axtman and Christopher Walker both of Rugby, were among the top 5 producers of Supplemental Insurance Premiums for the month of November.
