Blessum named to all-state VB team

The North Dakota High School Coaches Association named 16 girls to the Class B Volleyball All-State Team.

Of the 16, three were from Region 6.

Nominees from Region 6 were Maria Blessum, of Rugby; Kyley Lauf, of Des Lacs-Burlington; and Tessa Olson of Our Redeemer’s Christian School (Minot).

Also named to the list were senior athlete of the year Taylor Zak, of Thompson; Madison Pritchard and Callie Ronningen, of Langdon Area; Katie Entzi, of Edgeley-Kulm-Montpelier; Danielle Hagler, of North Star; Marissa Jensen, of Kenmare; Masy Kuntz and Alexa Walby, of Dickinson Trinity; Bailey Nelson, of Northern Cass; Payton Richter, of Central Cass; Nicole Schmitz, of Oakes; Ellie Stafford, of Bowman County; and Morgan Vitek, of Center-Stanton.

The association also named Thompson coach Lisa Strand the Subway Coach of the Year.

Schneibel, Michels named to all-state second team

The North Dakota High School Coaches Association named two Rugby Panthers to the All-State Division A Football Team.

D.J. Schneibel and Devan Michels were named to the second team with no positions designated.

The association named Kaden Kuntz, of Dickinson Trinity, the senior athlete of the year, and Josh Krivarchka, of Langdon Area-Edmore-Munich, the coach of the year.
