9-man football roundup
The playoff picture is in for 9-man football.
– With the top seed, the St. John Woodchucks get a first round bye next week and will await the winner of a game between Region 6 no. 4-seed Divide County and Region 5 no. 3-seed Richardton-Taylor-Hebron. The Woodchucks defeated the Benson County Wildcats 56-6 last week.
The Wildcats were unable to get on the board until the fourth quarter, with senior quarterback Will Rice completing a 52-yard pass to sophomore wideout John Fischer.
– The no. 2-seed Towner-Granville-Upham Titans will play the Region 5 no. 4-seed Central McLean Cougars at home for a chance at Region 6 no. 1-seed Ray-Powers Lake. TGU shutout the no. 4-seed North Star Bearcats last week
– The no. 3-seed North Prairie Cougars will travel to Surrey next week. The winner of that game will take on the Region 5 no. 1-seed New Salem-Glen Ullin. The Cougars finished the season with a 50-14 win last week over Larimore.
– The Bearcats will take on Shiloh Christian next week at Miller Field. The winner of that game will take on Region 6 no. 2-seed Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood, who also got a first round bye.
Other action
– The Dunseith Dragons would also finish the season with a win, dominating Trenton-Williston Trinity Christian 50-8 on the road.
