Journey to meet in October
The Journey, a cancer survivor support group, will meet Oct. 17 in the Fox Auditorium at the Heart of America Medical Center.
With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, JoClaire Halvorson from HAMC’s Radiology department will be the guest speaker. Halvorson will speak on 3D mammography.
Group organizer Jody Tuchscherer said that as a breast cancer survivor herself, “early detection is vital.”

NDCF to award $500K in scholarships
The North Dakota Community Foundation announced it will award over $500,000 in scholarships to over 350 students in 2018. Scholarships come from over 150 funds the organization manages.
Area students, and the funds their scholarships come from, include:
BARTON: Whitney Gronvold, N.D. Farmers Union Co-op House Scholarship, N.D. Farmers Union Scholarship, Rugby High School Alumni Scholarship.
RUGBY: Leona Petrovich, Frank & Catherine Hornstein Memorial Music Scholarship; Jacquelyn Blessum, Rugby High Schoool Alumni Scholarship; Kaitlyn Boucher, Dushinske & Jamison Water Resources Scholarship; Allyson Kleespie, Rugby High School Alumni Scholarship.
WOLFORD: Justin Yoder, Norman & Bill Erickson “Uffda” Scholarship.

RCEF accepting applications
The Rugby Community Endowment Fund is still accepting grant applications from local charities. Applications must be turned in by 12:00 noon, October 8. For more information, call 776-5246, or download an application at ndcf.net.
