Rugby shooters take home hardware

The ND ATA (American Trapshooting Association) Trap Shoot was held in Minot, June 18-22. Several Rugby shooters were able to bring home hardware. The Shoot kicked off on Wednesday with a Youth Team Event. The Rugby team took 2nd in the Junior Division with a score of 479/500. Ten Rugby kids participated in this event. Individual awards went to Kordell Kraft for shooting a 97 and earning the Sub Junior Champion.

Thursday – Kraft shot a 93 in Singles and a 87 in Handicap, earning Sub-Junior Champion in both events.

Friday – Kraft shot an 88 and was the Sub Junior Champion. Dwight Gunter Shot a 97 in Singles and a 93 in Handicap, earning Champ in Singles and Runner Up in Short Yardage Handicap.

Saturday – Class AA Champ, Brandon Oksendahl with a 198/200; Class C Champ, Dwight Gunter with 193/200; Junior Gold Champ, Matt Oksendahl with a 194/200; Sub Junior Runner Up, Kordell Kraft 180/200; Kyla Radomski earned the Mary Polkinghorne Memorial $200 Scholarship as the high Junior Female with a score of 177/200; Randy Knain was awarded the Bill Fischer Memorial Sportsmanship Award for his efforts in the Youth Shooting Programs and his drive for promoting and teaching trapshooting.

Sunday – Blair Kuhnhenn was in a shoot off for champ in Handicap and lost in the second round shoot off. His impressive 95/100 earned him first place honors in the Junior Class; Knain was the Class C Doubles Champion on Sunday with a 86, and also earned the Class D High Overall Award.
