LRDHU presents budget to County board
The Lake Region District Health Unit presented its proposed 2019 budget to the Pierce County Board of County Commissioners in a special meeting Tuesday morning.
LRDHU Administrator Allen McKay met with the board to discuss the proposed budget, which requests over $134,000 from the county — the amount is based on each county in the district’s taxable valuation.
McKay said the unit had received cuts in state aid but was balancing the cuts with grants and fee increases.
The proposed budget wouldn’t be finalized until the board — which consists of commission members from Pierce, Benson, Eddy and Ramsey counties–meets in October by conference call.
– The board met with Rugby Public Schools Superintendent Mike McNeff, who gave an update on the clinical counselor position. McNeff said the counselor position would start on Aug. 15, and would spend three days a week at the school, one day at Pierce County Social Services and one day at the Heart of America Correctional & Treatment Center.
– The board discussed cuts to be made to the proposed 2019 budget. Cuts will be reviewed during the regular meeting in August.
