Hippology teams take second at Horse Bowl

The Pierce County 4H Hippology Team recently competed at Crookston, MN and Fargo, ND at the ND State 4H Horse Bowl Competition.

In the Hippology division there were two teams. The intermediate team for 11-14 year olds was Mika Guty, Joey Wolf, and Kendra Leier and they placed 2nd overall as a team. The junior division was for 8-10 year olds and the team was Kami Guty, Jesse Wolf, and Hailey Olson. They also placed 2nd overall as a team.

In the Horse Judging division the team included all of the above and they placed 5th as a team. Individual awards were: Overall Individual-Mika Guty 10th, Joey Wolf 18th, and Kendra Leier 27th. All of those individuals placed in the top half and were recognized with ribbons. In the halter division Mika Guty placed 2nd and Joey Wolf 18th. In the performance division Kendra Leier was 14th, Kami Guty 18th, Hailey Olson 21st, and Joey Wolf 26th. In the reasons division Mika Guty placed 1st, Joey Wolf 12th, and Kendra Leier 15th.

In the Quiz Bowl Contest Joey Wolf was the 20th high individual, Mika 1st and Kendra placed 27th.

The coaches were Barb Rice and Diane Randle.
