By Staff | Apr 27, 2018

Bonnie Remmick/PCT The building that once housed Pizza Hut and Big Pauly’s will once again house a pizza restaurant, which will open in May.

Neil Lacey will be opening a new restaurant on Highway 2 next to the Dairy Queen, called Rough Rider Pizza the first week of May. It will feature high quality pizza from the Minnesota area, and also have broasted chicken.

Lacey who lives in Rugby now, is previously from the Minnesota, the Twin Cities area where since high school he has worked in the pizza businesss, specialized in marketing and sales, to later manage a restaurant in Inver Grove Heights called Old World Pizza. Rough Rider will use the historical pizza recipe that has high reviews in pizza history.

“I decided to bring my Old World pizza and recipes for broasted chicken to the Rugby area.” said Lacey. “I’ve been in the pizza business since I was in high school, managing a restaurant, and then managing an Old World Pizza restaurant. We are really looking forward to making our home and business in Rugby. It’s a great community to call home.”

Hours of operation will be announced soon, and Lacey is hiring locally for all positions. Outside renovations and painting have been happening quickly now that weather has warmed. The business hopes to be up and running the first week of May. Lacey has posted more information on the door of the previous Pauly’s Pizza, where he will open his new business on Highway 2 next to the Dairy Queen in Rugby, North Dakota.
