Rugby Public Schools to extend school days
For a week and a half, school days at both Ely Elementary and Rugby High schools will be 35 minutes longer.
From Monday, April 23 to Tuesday, May 1, schools will release students who ride buses at 3:50 p.m. and everyone else five minutes later. The only exception to the extended schedule will be April 25, when schools will dismiss at 1 p.m. The schools will return to their regular schedule on May 2.
Due to storm activity the school district has four hours to make up, and state law requires schools to provide 175 days of instruction and that missed time be made up.
